Nostalgia

I miss the evening rains,

the joy that erupts as the 3 PM Bell rings.

I miss those days when I used to travel by trains.

I feel nostalgic, as if it's something hard to believe.

I miss those days when we return home soaking wet,

The happy classes and the fun we have after.

The happy shouts that we hear as the rain hits the ground

is something to happily feel nostalgic for.

I miss those funny moments,

when the teacher tries to hush the class,

as soon as she says,

'Who's going to read the next paragraph?'

I feel so sad,

that it makes me cry while writing this,

but this too shall pass,

for nothing in here is permanent.

Detective Laura belle : The clueless criminal part 2

Part 2

“Hey! We would like to meet the newly hired policeman,” asked Mandy to the inspector. “Sure, please give me some time. He is a little busy now,” said the inspector and then asked the detective to see him. “Hey, I’m Laura Belle and this is my friend Mandy Brown and we both are detectives. So, Mr. Phillipe told me to seek help from you for his mother’s death and also….” Laura paused when Collin interrupted her.

“No more talks. Now get to work. I need the forensic reports ASAP and also the doctor reports. Make sure you ask every single person who were connected to Mr. Phillipe’s mother. Go!” shouted Collin in a very high-pitched voice. “Oh my god, he is so rude. I have never seen a strict-police like him,” Mandy said with a sigh. “Never mind Mandy, we will soon show him our girl power,” said Laura in a cheerful manner.

“According to the reports, the victim was in a good condition but someone has tried to stop her breath,” said the doctor in a sad manner.

Soon they collected the reports from the doctor and went to the crime scene. Laura and Mandy saw the few important evidence. The killer must be a handicap as the foot prints on the dirty floor clearly identified that the killer’s right foot is broken. The killer must be very familiar to the victim.

“There are 2 females in Mr. Phillips’s house. This is Helen Andrews, age 10, only daughter of Mr. Phillipe. And this is Kathrine Andrews, age 37, wife of Mr. Phillipe. These are their maids. And that is all we have here ma’am,” said Mr. Phillipe’s assistant. “Okay thanks to you, have a good day,” said Laura with a sigh. And then they questioned everyone in the house. “Mrs. Andrews, I want to ask you something. The thing is how are you related to your MIL? (mother-in-law)” asked Mandy in a suspicious tone. “Me? Yeah, I am literally like her daughter. And.…” she started to think and paused her dialogue when Laura interrupted. “Get to the point, ma’am. When did you see your MIL for the last time? What did she look like?” Laura started to raise her voice. “Well, the last time I saw her was when I went to give her medicine. That is all,” Mr. Andrews started to stammer. “Okay ma’am, we will call you whenever we have time. You may leave now,” said Mandy.

After a week, Laura and Mandy had an evidence. According to the reports, the killer who killed Mr. Phillipe’s mother was Mrs. Andrews. “Hey Laura, I just got a new evidence, just have a look at it. I have found a gold-specs in Mr. Phillipe’s bedroom. We have to give it for checking,” Mandy said in happiness. The truth was, it was not Mrs. Andrew’s gold specs. It was her MIL’s.

“If you confess, you will be in jail just for 15 year. And if you don’t, you will be there for 30 years,” Laura said in a soft manner. “What?! How can I kill my mother-in-law? It’s unbelievable, just let me out. I have to go.” Mrs. Andrews started to stammer. “You’re surprised, huh? I had a very close eye on you, ma’am. When we were checking your house, I found this artificial leg outside your house, in the garbage. I always seen you wearing heels which has a raise on the right side than the left. So, it would be easy for you to walk. And the confusing part is, who wears heels for walking in the house? It’s funny, really funny. And now, you have to confess. It clearly shows that you are the murderer and you will suffer in jail for 30 years and also for an extra 5 years to learn how to control yourself.” Mandy could not control herself and all of a sudden took her gun and tried to shoot Mrs. Andrews.

Laura tried to stop her and then Mrs. Andrews finally confessed. “I killed her because, she had troubled me a lot. She always used to compare me with others. I’m a drawing artist. But I retired just for her to take care of her. But she always irritated me. On one day, I could not control myself. I was literally in a depression. So, when she was sleeping, I took a pillow and you know what happened next. I am the one who killed my mother-in-law.”

Soon, they called Collin to tell the reason. Then, he took out his handcuffs and she was sent to the jail. Mr. Phillipe was heartbroken when he heard this from Laura and Mandy. Mrs. Andrews will suffer in jail for 40 years for murdering a senior citizen. Soon Laura and Mandy became deputies in the States. They were known as the youngest detectives in the U.S.A and soon they will solve another case with another great mystery.

Detective Laura Belle: The clueless criminal

Part 1

Mandy Brown: An assistant detective for Laura Belle.

Mr. Phillipe Andrews: The lawyer and also the son the victim.

Mrs. Andrews: Also known as Kathrine Andrews, the wife of Mr. Phillipe.

Collin Hills: Newly hired policeman for the crime department.

The moment Mr. Adam Reynold was fired from the crime department in Washington, a well-mannered police officer was hired. His name was Collin Hills. He was youthful in age and a very dedicated policeman.

Now talking about our detective: She has become a young detective in the city and has appeared in newspapers, reality shows, and was an outstanding student in her college. This made her very proud. Now about our assistant detective: She has also appeared in the newspapers and was also an outstanding student in her college.

“Sir, a 30-year-old lady wants to talk to you about something, can I ask her to come?” The security asked. “No, first ask the cop to collect the details from her and make sure he asks everything. Do not let anyone come in as I will be a little busy talking to a lawyer. And also, I want a cappuccino ASAP,” Collin said and in a gentle way.

***

“So, Laura, how are you prepared for the exam? I’m so tensed and I am also really scared,” Mandy said with a sigh. “Don’t be scared we will do our best. And I’m also a little scared. Okay see you tomorrow,” said Laura in a positive way and left her college.

Days passed and the big day had come. Yes, it was their criminology exams. “All the best, my young detectives. I bet you will ace it! Do your very best. May the Lord be with you,” said Mr. Phillipe Andrews. “Thank you, sir. Your wishes mean a lot to us,” said Laura and Mandy in a thankful manner. They entered the examination hall and started writing. After a week, their result had arrived. They had passed their examination. Everyone was so happy for them.

30.09.2020 was Laura’s and Mandy’s farewell party. “Those years were so fast and we cannot believe it ourselves that you students have crossed the big task. We all bless you for a great life ahead,” said the principal of the college. “Oh my god, Laura, our dreams have come true. My life has become awesome! It feels like 7th heaven,” said Mandy in tears. “Don’t just be emotional, honey. We have aced our exam just like how Mr. Phillipe said. But wait a minute. Where is he?” Laura stood perplexed. “Yes, where is he? He is supposed be here. He is the chief guest. What happened?” Mandy felt disturbed. All of a sudden, the principal ordered everyone to go home. Everyone agreed and left without another word, but Laura and Mandy just waited for everyone to leave.

“What is the issue? What happened, ma’am?” they both asked in a curious way. “Well, Mr. Andrew’s mother j…. just died b…. because of….” the college principal was in tears and stammered. “What happened to his mother?” they both asked without compromising. “Okay, she died because of her lung cancer.” The principal lost her patience and started crying aloud. “Wait what?!” Both of them popped out their eyes in suprasegment.  “No, no, no, no. please don’t cry, ma’am. Here, drink some water and get up. Let’s get inside the staff room,” Laura said in a genuine way. Mandy left for Mr. Phillipe’s house.

“Mrs. Andrews, are you okay? Where is Mr. Phillipe? How is he doing now?” Mandy asked anxiously. “Mandy, I’m okay. Phillipe is in the right side of the dining room,” said Mrs. Andrews in a sad manner. She is Mr. Phillipe’s wife. “Okay ma’am, stay right here. Don’t panic as I’m here. Take care of your kid,” said Mandy and dropped her keys at the moment she saw Mr. Phillipe. He was crying in an eccentric way. Throwing the things which were coming to his hands.

Mandy tried stopping Mr. Phillipe but in desperation, he could not control himself. “Mandy, move! Or I’ll hurt you by mistake. She is so young to die. Is 67, an age to die? Without her, I am a loser. She was also a person who made me to complete the past 90 cases in success. What am I going to do without her!?” Mr. Phillipe cried aloud and literally tried to bang himself against the wall. Mandy tried her best to stop him from crying. The moment Mr. Phillipe stopped crying, he slept beside his mother. Mandy left home.

***

The next day, Laura called Mandy. “Hey, so, what happened? Is he doing good?” asked Laura in grief.

“Well, I think he is doing good. But I pity him. People are saying that his mother died because of lung cancer but I’m not sure of it. She did not die on her own. Someone has tried to kill her,” said Mandy in a spooky tone. “Wait what?! Mandy, can’t you ever be serious? This is not the time to joke. So, okay. Can we see him now? What do you say?” Laura did not believe Mandy. “You wait and see. Even the doctors will say this to you. So come on, let’s go,” said Mandy stubbornly and they were off to Mr. Phillipe’s house. Mr. Phillipe’s eyes were red and was swollen.

“I’m sorry for your loss, sir. We did not expect this for her. The truth is, she did not die on her own. Someone had tried to arrest her breath. Someone has tried to kill your mother,” the doctor declared.

The moment Laura heard this; she literally opened her mouth. But for Mr. Phillipe, it was so hard for him to digest. Then he walked back to Laura and Mandy and said, “thanks for coming, detectives. Please do me a favor. Find that person who killed my mother. I have appointed a policeman for this case. He will help you both. Now go to work or else I will throw this on your head.” Suddenly he started shouting and began to throw everything. The beautiful house was then filled with broken pieces of glass, wood, torn cotton pillows and dresses. Scared Mandy and Laura ran out of his house. “See, I told you. Someone has killed her,” said Mandy like she had won a lucky draw.

“Fine you win. Now let’s start our investigation. At first, we will go to the crime department to see our new policeman,” said Laura in a cheerful way. They were off to the crime department.

To be continued…
